About
David Moore’s Funny Business is a
popular and much-talked-about series of comedy shows that has sold out Carolines on Broadway in all six of its past editions.
It has been touted in the New York Times, Time Out New York, and numerous times in the New York Post as a “don’t
miss event”. Of the most recent edition on Nov. 2, Broadcasting & Cable Magazine wrote “the comedy that has
our interest tonight is not the season premiere of That 70s Show, it’s the Funny Business Show at Carolines on Broadway.”
David Moore, a prominent CEO and regular performer at Carolines on Broadway, created
and hosted the first Funny Business show in 2003 at Carolines on Broadway. Interest in the extracurricular pursuits of moguls
like Richard Branson and Donald Trump was at an all time high. David decided to give these larger-than-life types a chance
to prove they were as funny as they were business savvy by performing stand up alongside professional comics.
The first edition made clear that the executives could be hilarious, and the contrast
between the suit-and-tie set and the comedy vets thrilled the audience. The show has been going strong ever since.
November 2, 2005 was the sixth edition of David Moore’s Funny Business.
Portions of last November’s Funny Business show were featured on an ABC-7 hour-long Comedy special. Press coverage of
the Funny Business show has included articles in Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, New York Times, L.A. Times, New York Post,
Daily News, Wall Street Journal and Fortune Magazine.
